Check out your gutters:
The gutters are responsible for protecting your house from rainwater, and thus you need to make sure that it is not clogged. Depending on the number of trees near your home you need to clean your gutters.
Clean your windows:
Spring season is the best time to clean your windows. You can open the windows and dust it off. If you want you can also clean the exterior walls of the house us, you feel that it is dirty. But before cleaning the walls, you need to make sure that all your windows and other openings are shut properly otherwise you will be allowing water to enter the house.
Give your pipes a check:
Make sure that all your pipes are working fine and if you feel that there are some signs of leaks, you might want to replace those pipes. Also, check if there are any leaks in the walls as some pipes might be placed inside your walls, and you might want to consider replacing that pipe before it ruins the entire wall.
You might not even use your fireplace regularly, but the chimney is something which needs regular checkups. Make sure that you inspect your chimneys annually, and if you happen to use it regularly, then you must have it cleaned often.
Keep an eye on your smoke detectors:
Take some time off to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and check if all of them are working properly.

Summer is one of the best times to start your home improvement projects. If you are planning to improve the curb looks of your home or if you want to remodel it, then you ought to do it in summer. You can redo your bathroom and kitchen floors or consider painting your house.
Watch out for bugs and pests:
Maybe you are not the only one who loves staying in your house during summer. There are ants, termites, bees etc. which love to enter your home. Keep an eye for such pests and if you happen to spot them make sure that you get it out of your house immediately.
